SPECIAL WIN :
Vailele skipper and Manu Samoa 7’s star , Mikaele Pesamino, lifts the championship trophy after a 44-12 win against Fiji’s Global Barbarians.

Manu Samoa 7’s star, Mikaele Pesamino led his home team Vailele to their first ever Marist International 7’s Tournament win yesterday, with a runaway 44-12 win against Fiji’s Global Barbarians.
Vailele upstaged Manu Samoa captain Uale Mai and his Marist St. Joseph’s team in the finals playoff with a 17-12 win to secure a spot in the final.
SCOPA was unlucky with a 19-21 nail biter against the Global Barbarians, to drop out of championship contention.
Vailele is only the third local team to win the Marist International 7’s in the tournaments 21 year history.
Marist St. Joseph’s and Moata’a have dominated over the years.
Moata’a were the winners of the tournament  bowl this year over Marist Auckland.

Congratulations to Vailele
written by solemalisi, February 24, 2008
First of all, thanks to the Marist Sports Club for again producing the best ever local rugby tournament. It is a great service for our people.
Congratulations to Pesamino and his Vailele team for winning this year's Marist 7's. It really shows that the level of 7's competition has improved a lot. Wonderful to know that another local team apart from Marist and Moataa has been able to win this tournament. The semi-finals between Vailele and Marist as while as between Fiji's Global Barbarian must have been great matches. The Fijians will return hurting after being humiliated by the local boys from Vailele. Not surprising thought that they win ... knowing that four of the present National 7's team play for the club.
Wish the team well in Hong Kong.
way to go Vailele!!
