With the Manu Samoa playing its first international under the new Head Coach, Tuala Niko Palamo in Fiji within the next four weeks, there is speculation whether the final trials scheduled for 20 May 2008 have been left too late for combinations to be worked out. The Manu Samoa will play Fiji at Churchill Park,Lautoka Fiji on 7 June 2008 before taking on Australia A at Apia Park on 14 June 2008. The Manu Samoa will then travel to Waikato Stadium in Hamilton to play against the NZ Maoris on 21 June 2008 before playing Tonga at Teufaiva Park in Tonga on 28 June 2008.
The last game of the Manu Samoa for the Pacific Nations Cup will be against Japan at Apia Park on 5 July 2008

Not ready as usual...
written by Jack, May 12, 2008
The Manu is not ready at all...given the fitness condition of the players. Lucky if the Manu wins a game during the PN tournment. Our boys got the skills but fitness is a long way to go...I think the coaches are aware of that.

I trust Palamo has planned a Manu team which will be the very best in the circumstances. Manu Samoa m sure will show case its best rugby skilled and fit players at the time. We can complain etc etc, but at the end of the day, the coach & assistants are limited in their choice to the players which they will have. One can only say, wish the coach & selectors the best for choosing the best of our tama fanau who are this time and point, the bestest in fitness, skills, talents & HEARTS for Samoa!!

Palamo, keep up your faith, this is your time to lead our national team.Never be worried about.Inform each member of your team to have faith to God and follow the rules of training and keep and obey. Let them stay away from their girl friends and their wives until the upcoming tournerment is done.Good Luck. smilies/smiley.gif
Manu Will Prevail
written by Burnley, May 17, 2008
The Manu has always been a team motivated by their pride... They will no doubt be more than prepared to give it their all, and what more can we ask from them? It is not a question of what their skills are, but what they can do with them. Neither is it one of their 'fitness condition', but how they manage their time and strengths on the field. The coaching staff is the best we've had in years, and no doubt have already addressed this.
Jack... Sir... I sincerely hope you havent 'put your money where your mouth is'.
Families to support the Manu players
written by Olo, May 24, 2008
Aiga, nuu and alaalafaga of each players should turn up in support of their sons not only during practices but also for the games. No one inspires our sons more than we, mothers, fathers, uso, tuafafine & the list goes on!! I find it sad that parents and aigas dont turn up & support the guys during practices in Samoa etc!! I wish I can but I live overseas !!
have faith in our men
written by Fono Sellesin, May 25, 2008
As a Samoan living in the United States, I strongly believe that our men have all the skills and the experiences in the sports of rugby. I am sadden to say that some of your comments are very discouraging to the team. They don't need your negative thoughts, all they need is our words of encouragement and support. I have faith in them that they will perform well in the tournament. They are going into this tournament with only one purpose in mind, and that is to be victorous. But we must remember that a miracle of victory can only be achieved by valor, by perseverance, by perfect discipline, by faultless service, by resource, by skill, and by unconquerable fidelity. To coach Palamo, good luck and may God bless you and the team. Soifua.
Manu has Fa'afilli?
written by Bunce, May 25, 2008
Is that Henry Fa'afilli as in the League player??? and is Uale mai really playing Hooker??!!!!
Henry Fa'afili??
written by BULLDOZA, May 25, 2008
Hey 'bunce' I'm not 100% sure that it is Henry Fa'afili the former Rugby League player, but I do know he was as of November last year playing Rugby Union in France for Olympique. I personally think it is him, can anyone confirm this for us please??? Anyway back to the question I believe the Manu will be prepared for the upcoming tournament. I feel even though it's not long to go before the first game they will be ready and either way the mighty Manu will always have my support!! GO THE MANU SAMOA1!!
