2000 airplane seats sold in a day

More tourists coming to Samoa Main carriers for Samoa November must have been a good month for both Polynesian Blue and Air New Zealand in terms of sales. Deputy Prime Minister Misa Telefoni told Parliament last week that both airliners sold 1000 seats each within a day after announcing special packages to New Zealand in the month of November. “Both these airlines receive $500,000 each a day,” Misa told the House adding that this was the benefit of having a low cost carrier like Polynesian Blue operating in the country. Misa, who is also the Minister of Tourism and Trade, said the low fares offer by Polynesian Blue left Air New Zealand with less choice but to lower their fares as well. In the end, it’s the traveling public who will benefit. “Some people never planned to travel to New Zealand,” Misa said. “But when these packages were announced, they just took it.” Also during the festive season, there were packages with both airlines which include air fares and accommodation for up to seven days in an “affordable price”. This was evidence, according to Misa by reports from Aggie Grey’s Resort at Mulifanua where half of the guests were Samoans leaving overseas coming home for Christmas. Misa said foreign tourists were also finding the affordable packages to Samoa appealing.- “Usually, it’s our own people filling up our planes,” he said. “But now it’s very please to see tourists filling up to quarter of the flights.” Comments (0) Subscribe to this comment's feed Write comment Name Email Title Comment
