No Bigger Seats For Samoans On Poly Blue PDF Print E-mail

Faavae Gagamoe Pacific Islands representative for New Zealand Virgin Blue/Poly Blue.

There will be no adjustments made to the seats of Poly Blue Airlines to cater for certain sizes.

As some travelers (including Samoans) of significant proportions do travel on the budget airline, the issue was raised to Faavae Gagamoe Pacific Islands representative for New Zealand Virgin Blue/Poly Blue.

“There will be no changes made to seat configuration, certain seats cannot be allocated to people of a certain size” Gagamoe said.

However Gagamoe guarantees that there are other ways to make the trip comfortable for people that are generally bigger in size than others, and this includes requesting for the neighbouring seat to be blocked off if empty.

Gagamoe adds that there are certain procedures and safety regulations, for travelers with special needs, the elderly and the children but seating capacity and the size of the seat will remain the same.

Bigger seats???
written by Jack, April 17, 2008
What about loooosssing the weight or pay two seats for your comfort. I should not be paying more for my fare so the airline can put in bigger seats for someone. If the size of the seats is the problem...pay two or three seats for your comfort. I am sure the airline don't mine!
Bigger Seats.

Its lose weight or say goodbye early
written by chickensoup, April 18, 2008
Im with Jack on this issue.
Samoans has long been percieved as huge unhealthy looking people. Dont get me wrong or think Im being disrespectful rather Im being realistic and shoot the problem head on.
In saying so, I believe every family has one or more members who are obese and/or too big for their age.
I don't want to pussy foot from the real issue here because if you look at what's happening in families and villages, so many young people are diagnosed with diabetes, heart problems or related communicable illnesses. this is the result of eating unhealthy, unbalanced food.
Who said Samoans are becoming educated and developed if this is the kind of lifestyle we are getting too used to.

It's time the govt and every concerned citizens of Samoa get to lose weight and stay healthy for the sake of so many things in life. It's just sad to know that many people died so young of diabetes, heart problems and health related diseases.

Some may disagree but I am a very health conscious person and I urge everyone I come into contact with to stay healthy and eat more vegetables than just meat everyday. This leads me to wonder if there is any Samoan who is a vegetarian. I doubt it pretty much...but Ill praise the Lord if there is one or two reading this. Honestly
Depends-- what the excursions are for
written by hello-- get this plane ride ri, April 24, 2008
listen of all the things that Samoa has not got right, the most important thing and thenumber thing to get right is the air travel situation--- right seats, right inbounds, right hotel packaging, right number of rooms, right fare pricing, right plane, right gasoline in the plane, right side to drive upon-- you get it!-- tourist hate uncertainty and by golly thems the ones that will spend the money for the right things at the right price.

Maybe, If I sit long enough under the moon of Aleipata. I can catch the the moonbeam to get beamed up to lunar space, but get the Airline Plane rides right-- ok, please, please-- don't call us heavy, don't call big, don't call us at all--- just get the flight right that's all we ask, us the paying public.
Hypocrites
written by kaamufealasi, April 24, 2008
Just want to respond to kittensoup's comment. You are such a hypocrite and your comments. If you were sitting next to someone like me with that non-sense you made, you would probably get a rugbyball eye! how can you made such senseless comments about us people. You kind of like speaking of Samoan people but look all over the world. Even rich countries have the same problem. So, why don't you shut your booty mouth and say something nice that motivate people to loose weight if that is your intention. If you are vegie who cares! I met some vegies and they are healthy outside but inside is like a burning chacoal.... I bet you have relatives that are as sick as you are... well, enough have a nice one!

peace
what?
written by kalofili, April 24, 2008
listen up kittensoup, shush ur bigmouth and think first before you say things like this. Now its getting too personal with the public as you may as well know maybe more than fifty percent of our population are extra-sized and don't point fingers to Samoans only take a look elsewhere you blind kitten. Just please comment directly on the headline issue don't turn and point it to big Samoans making it sound more like it's a health issue, goodness you can politely give advice for healthy eating etc etc ua iloa. but don't be a smart skinny bottom! koaga e kausami le fasikalo ma le palusami, and travel on poly blue ua iloa.

soifua!

the truth hurts big time :)

hi kaamufealasi...
as far as your empty rhetorics are concerned, you are another one that needs to lose weight...sorry if my comments sounds fealasi to you but the truth hurts and I can't beat around the bush smilies/wink.gif
probably if thats the only way to motivate someone like you to lose weight then praise the Lord, as long as it works. So go for it...get up do some exercise, punch the computer screen and lose some sweat.

different motivation work for different people...others are way too lazy that they have to be spoon fed and others like you need to be rubbed with a pa'u kaamu to move around
