MORE TRAVELLERS : Polyblue  push grass root travellers

Representatives of Poly Blue Airline from Australia and New Zealand are  in Samoa on a mission to promote Samoa as a tourist destination to New Zealand citizens of Samoan descent.

Mr. Faavae Gagamoe the Visiting Friends and Relatives and Pacific Islands Sales Representative for Poly Blue New Zealand is here with representatives who holds influence to community life in New Zealand to familiarize with Samoan way of life and culture.

The ultimate aim according to Gagamoe is to deal directly with the grassroot level and influence them to travel on vacation to Samoa.

Another aim is not only to get Samoans residing overseas to travel to Samoa on holiday but also to purchase the whole package which includes staying in a hotel and getting a rental car.

Edmund Vonherbreint Virgin Blue Representative from Australia emphasized the importance of this and stated that in December last year 1600 VFR traveled to Samoa and not one stayed in a hotel.

Vonherbreint believes that this is due to the fact that visiting friends and relatives are poorly informed about the affordability of hotels in Samoa.

According to Gagamoe approximately 155000 Samoans stay in New Zealand so to get these people to travel to Samoa on holiday will boost the tourism industry and at the moment Poly Blue air fares are affordable.
